On the following 12 dates I will be facilitating an Accessible Technologies Roundtable/Discussion online in the NE PATINS Project Office on the PATINS Second Life Island. No registration necessary. Just show up to participate in the conversations. You will need to have your free avatar created and Second Life Software installed already.

Video iPod Self-Operated Prompting

Hands-On Lab: Participants will gain knowledge on using Video iPods to create natural, socially acceptable and easily modifiable self-operated prompting systems with digital video and audio prompts for their students to experience more success within their school tasks and/or community based instructional settings. Light breakfast and refreshments provided. Lunch on your own.

Classroom Podcasting

The very basics of podcasting and implications for classroom use. Participants will be introduced to what podcasting is, several examples of existing podcasts, how podcasting pertains to education and their individual classrooms and the first steps of creating a podcast. Participants with some experience will be encouraged to get into podcasting a little deeper and actually practice producing a finished podcast of their own. Light breakfast and refreshments provided. Lunch on your own.

Digital Photography & Free Image Manipulation to Make Your Curriculum More Accessible (In Second Life Island)

SL In-World Workshop! As digital photography has flooded the marketplace, it is has become easier and cheaper than ever to use images in your curriculum to enrich, engage, support, supplement or motivate!  Participants are encouraged to have their own digital cameras ready. We will look at the basics of digital photography and free ways of manipulating images for instructional purposes. THIS WORKSHOP WILL BE DELIVERED ONLINE, in the NE Office of the PATINS Second Life Island. We will be using voice chat as well as text chat. You will need to have an avatar created and Second Life software installed and running prior to this workshop! Contact me with questions.

Once training space becomes full, a waiting list will be started.

We will confirm your registration via email. If you do not receive a confirmation,
but believe you are registered, PLEASE contact us immediately.

Other workshops are available upon request by Special Education Cooperatives or local educational agencies.  Contact Daniel McNulty to schedule on-site trainings, online trainings or to suggest possible workshops at the NE PATINS Site.  Other possible trainings include SMART-Board, Second Life, Read:OutLoud, Boardmaker, Inspiration, Intellitools, adapted toys and various computer access, Universal Design for Learning, AT & AAC Overview, Video Self Modeling, Self-Operated Prompting, format conversion, podcasting and more!

This training list is updated as new regional trainings are scheduled and as needs arise.
