Twice-A-Month Roundtable Discussions
on Accessible Instructional Materials (AIM) & Assistive Technology (AT)

  • On the following dates, I will be facilitating roundtable discussions online, like Daniel did for the last three years.  These will take place in Second Life, on the PATINS Island, in the Northeast Office.  No registration necessary, just show up to participate in the conversations.  There are no set topics, just show up to ask questions and participate in discussion around AT and AIM.  You will need to have an avatar created and Second Life software installed.  I can help with this.  Days/Times vary.

  • I will not have regular meetings in Second Life for the rest of the year.  Contact me if you want to get on the island for a chat!   This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Seating and Positioning for Access

Access does not begin at the hands. Access starts with control and control starts at the pelvis and follows the body from there. Access may end at the hands, but may just as well be found at the knee or the head or the eyelid. Every change made in positioning effects change elsewhere. And what works at one point in the day, may not work later. This session will look at the fundamentals that everyone needs to know about positioning for the best access to technology.
