Free Technology Supports for
Qualifying Students

  Don Johnston's Read:OutLoud

Beginning at the start of 2008-2009 school year, students who qualify under the Chafee Amendment  will use the Read: OutLoud Bookshare.org Edition text reader to access Thousands of electronic books, educational materials and resources in NIMAS and DAISY formats from the Bookshare.org website.  They are also offering Read:OutLoud to school districts at a reduced price for students receiving special education services.

Sylvan Dell Publishing Announces
Educational Resource Grant

This grant is for a free, one-year (school year 2008/2009),
site license (value $599) providing unlimited access to all
35 (soon to be 45) Sylvan Dell eBooks, featuring flipviewer
technology with selectable English and Spanish text and audio.
The license can be used on all school computers and may be
placed on secure school websites, enabling students and their families
to login and have access from their homes.
